Thanks everyone for your comments about the computer crash. The pc is back up (thanks honey). I’ve been busy working on some new altered postcards for June for my “Altered Postcard” group. We’ve been struggling to come up with a name for our group. We all met at Artfest this year and agreed to send altered postcards to each other every month until next year’s Artfest. we need a name…any ideas?? Leave a comment. (pleeeeaaase)
Step 1: Cutting down the big cardboard
I was pretty lucky this week to find 2 big sheets of cardboard. Their real job was to be a backer on a huge pad of paper, used in office meetings. All the paper was gone so I took the opportunity to give them new life. 🙂 (how noble of me, yes?) When I say big, they are about 2′ 3″ x 2′ 10″. Since I need to make 6 postcards a month, I cut a strip off long enough to fit 6. The postcard laying there was altered by Kathy. It’s a standard sized postcard.
Step 2: start decorating, watercolor, stamps and ink. Click the image for a larger look.
Step 3: Add on’s. This is a real loose process for me. I don’t like to plan my design completely out. Just a little reference as I go along to see if objects will coordinate with the background. The birds will be cropped closer and I still want to add more embellishments but I’m having fun and wanted to share with you.
