Hello friends! Hope you’re having a good week. We had some serious hail in Colorado Springs last night. Our neighborhood was spared but several of my friends and our son got major damage to their cars. One friend lost two skylights in their home and 3 damaged car windsheilds. Ouch! Hoping i can avoid hail this weekend. Hope you have great weekend!
Today I wanted to share an artsy trade that happened recently between myself and my friend Aimee.
A few weeks ago my facebook buddy, Aimee posted a few options of her new logo she was designing for herself (see aimee logo image). I loved it. I voted for my favorite and texted her to see if she’d be interested in designing one for me.
Here’s my previous logo in gold.
We shared our styles and fun tidbits with each other.
I shared my fav colors: purple & blue (the door image was my color inspiration). She designed 4 logo’s and this one was my favorite. I requested a fun font and she added the blue heart, which i adore!
To help me design her encased heart, Aimee mentioned she loved to travel to tropical beaches and requested I use the quote “Not all who wander are lost”.
I completed the inner heart pictured above but it just didn’t feel right to me for Aimee.
I researched tropical life, fish, underwater and came up with different imagery and a different feel. YES!! This is more like it. I liked the idea of using textured coral on the outside, a turtle, and a starfish, mermaid and compass on the inner heart.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and this is the heart I made for her. (images by Aimee)
To represent the sea: blue color, tropical turtle and the coral…”born to roam”, and on the back I added a mermaid silhouette, which i didn’t know at the time but Aimee’s daughter loves mermaids. (Score that i got to represent her daughter)
On the inner heart I included her quote in orange and purple. I added two starfish to represent Aimee and her husband. In the turquoise background are swirls and palm trees. Then on the back I wanted an element for Aimee to represent her parents (recently lost). She had mentioned her dad was her compass, so i thought that would be a perfect symbol for them. The middle says “life’s journey”.
Aimee posted the sweetest live video of her opening it on facebook. It was soooo precious. She loves the tropical heart and I love my new logo (see logo at the top). Thank you Aimee!! Guys, check her out, she’s also a Younique embassador and the sweetest, down to earth person.
If you are interested in getting your own custom heart made, I’ve added a couple of custom encased heart listings to my etsy shop tejaesart.
until next time…
