Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

tim and tejae

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We did. We are really blessed by our families and friends. Spent time with our family for Christmas.

Tim and I had a nice trip down to mexico in December. We caved and did a few of the touristy things, not usually our style but we enjoyed the adventure and the people we met. It’s wonderful to get a way for a while. We love to travel and hope to plan a trip back to hawaii next year.

This time of the year like most of you I’m reflecting on the year, this one was tough with layoffs at work, saying goodbye to friends that I’ve worked with for a really long time. My job was spared but who knows for how long.  There were also some good things too, like having my mom visit (we played in the studio), reconnecting with sisters and getting to know them better as the women they’ve become. I also met some wonderfully talented women in the online classes I’ve taken this year with tara at scoutie girl, kelly rae roberts flying course and alyson and cynthia’s blog triage

I worked on some amazing custom orders this year too. My customers are the best! They are great story tellers. I love hearing about who I’m making the piece for and the significance of the colors, symbols and words on the piece. I’m looking forward to creating more this coming year. All in all its been a good year but I’m looking forward to 2011.

So HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope its a good one for you. I plan on dusting off my kiln to do some new pmc pieces, more sewing and of course more hearts. What about you? What’s on your wish list to accomplish this coming year?
