How many of you belong to more than 3 online groups?? I belong to more than 10. I decided it was time to sit down and write out some art goals and get focused on what I really want to be spending my time on. (I tend to do that, this time of the year.) Anyhoo, I did a little spring cleaning and removed myself from a couple of groups that I found myself lurking in more than I was participating. I also signed up for a new group that I’m very excited about, it aligns better with my goals, which is to surround myself with some talented polymer clay artists, be inspired to do new work and get more exposure for my polymer clay work. 🙂 I’m happy to say I’m now a proud member of the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy. woot! woot! It is an extremely active group so I know I will stay challenged.
Other exciting news, I’ve been asked by several of you to create an online class for my encased hearts. Honestly I didn’t even know such a thing existed but as I was busy researching it, I recieved an email from Lisa Gatz over at that Creative Place asking if I would be interested in teaching a class. So yes, I would. I should have my information ready soon, hopefully in time for the holidays. I’ll post more information soon. 🙂
I’ve posted a few more little hearties on etsy. A friendly reminder that the holidays are just around the corner. The hearts arrive to you conveniently gift boxed. 🙂
Oh, one more thing, I’ve been thinking of having a “pay it forward” give away on my blog for the holidays. I haven’t got all the details worked out, maybe you could help me out with that? The gist of it is, to feature an encased heart here on my blog that you would leave a comment on. After a week or so of people leaving comments I will draw a name for the winner. The “pay it forward” part comes in when the winner “gifts” the heart to someone that needs some real lifting up, maybe this person is down on their luck, lost their job, divorce, cancer, or something serious. Since this will be on the honor system the only stipulation I have is I’d like to get a picture back from the winner gifting the encased heart to their special someone, so that, I can post it here and celebrate too. 🙂 Remembering it’s better to give than to receive. This time of year is so hard on so many of our friends and family…it’s my way of cheering someone up who’s really in need of it. 🙂 How does that sound?
